My birthday in Shizuoka

Last weekend, I had to go to Shizuoka to help manage a very large teachers` conference. It was for around 1,800 language teachers from around the world. I had to schedule and manage around 80 student helpers from Tokai, Shizuoka Prefectural, and other universities. It was a lot of work but I enjoyed it.

Anyway, because it was my birthday, my family came up to join me and it was nice because I was also in charge of the tea and coffee stand. So we spent a lot of time there. They had a large area outside with international food… Swedish, Australian, Mexican, and many others. And my English tea too. It rained a little but we were in tents, so it was no problem.

Although it was a working time, it was one of my best birthdays for a long time because there were so many friends around. I had a really great time!

    It sounds very nice birthday! I envy you because I’v never spent such a nice birthday.
    I was born in Shizuoka! Where did you go in Shizuoka?

    Thanks for your comments! I’m sure you have spent very nice birthdays, but anyway, I went to Granship in Shizuoka city itself. It’s at Shizuoka Higashi, and it’s a huge conference centre.

    I really like Shizuoka area.. I like the people there. I think they are very kind and relaxed maybe because it’s a tea area. Where are you from Mayu? And do you like tea?

    Hello,paul!
    Shizuoka Higashi station is very near from the towm where I’ve ever lived. But the station was built after I moved to Nagoya. So I don’t know around the station in details.
    I liked the town. I wanna live once more…
    And I like tea very much, of course. I drink a tea every day and with every meals. I don’t drink any other drinks so many times. Moreover I only drink a tea from Shizuoka!
